Mark’s Squirrels

When asked about his use of algorithms to curate his user’s news feeds Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook famously said, “A squirrel dying in your front yard may be more relevant to you than someone dying in Africa.”

Posters were designed to act as front-page news articles, with some sort of breaking news on them. While the viewer is attempting to read the news - they are purposefully unable to because there are squirrels blocking their view.

This correlates to how the target audience is using the social media platforms to find news, but the algorithm instead chooses what it decides is important to them and generates content based on that regardless of it is true or not
